Kebabs 2 Ways (Beef & Chicken)

Traveling is an excellent way to learn new cultures. Chicken infused with Peanut Butter and a tangy beef kebab with capsicum, mushroom and onions will make you think you roaming the streets of Thailand in your own home. Experience the culture of the streets of Asia with these amazing kebabs.

Beef Kebabs

  • 100g Beef
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbs light soy sauce
  • 2 tbs oyster sauce
  • Pinch of dry herbs
  • Pinch of smoked paprika
  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp all spice
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 ginger
  • 1 capsicum
  • 1 red onion
  • 4 mushrooms

Beef Kebab Sauce

  • 1 Onion
  • 1/2 a ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 chili
  • 2 tbs of light soy sauce
  • 3 tbs of oyster source
  • 2 tsp of dry herbs
  • 1 tsp of paprika

Thai Chicken Satay

  • 2 tbs soy sauce
  • 3 tbs of peanut butter
  • Pinch of chili powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 4 coriander stems
  • 1/2 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 ginger
  • 1/3 cup water

Fresh Salad

  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 apple
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • A sprig of coriander
  • Bunch of mint leaves

Beef Kebabs

  • Trim the fat off the beef and cut into bite sized chunks.
  • Roughly chop the garlic, ginger and rosemary
  • Prepare your marinade by combining the soy sauce, oyster sauce, herbs, paprika, rosemary, salt, pepper, coriander, chili powder, garlic and ginger.
  • Mix well to combine the marinade, make sure to generously coat the beef chunks.
  • Chop the capsicum and red onion into three fourths and the mushrooms into quarters.
  • Start assembling your skewers by layering with meat then vegetable until a skewer is full.
  • Add the olive oil to your heated pan and start to add in the skewers.
  • When charred, the kebabs are ready to come off the heat.

Beef Sauce

  • Finely chop the onion, ginger, garlic and chili and add to a bowl.
  • Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, dry herbs and paprika to the vegetables and stir well.
  • Serve fresh with the beef kebabs.
  • Enjoy!

Thai Satay Chicken Kebabs

  • Finely cut the ginger, garlic and coriander; this will be added to the marinade.
  • Make your peanut marinade by combining soy sauce, peanut butter, chili powder, paprika, salt, pepper, coriander, garlic, ginger and water.
  • Whisk the marinade until well combined.
  • Cut the chicken into squares and add to the marinade.
  • Once thoroughly coated, add lime zest over it.
  • Add the chicken cubes to the skewers. Heat up a well oiled pan and start to cook your satays.
  • Once well browned and cooked fully, take off of the heat.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Fresh Salad

  • Thinly slice the zuchinni into strips and cut the apple and cucumbers into crescent shaped slivers.
  • Arrange onto a plate and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Garnish with salt, coriander and mint leaves.
  • Enjoy!
